Application Process and Deadlines

Aera Energy Services Company (Aera Services)* kicks off its recruiting season each year on September 1. Check our College and Career Fair Tour schedule on this web site to see whether we will be on your campus. We actively recruit on campus for our technical (Engineering and Occupational Safety and Health) interns between September and November and for our Business (Purchasing) interns between January and February.

Internships are filled as the appropriate candidates are identified. Most of the technical intern positions are filled by mid-November and the business intern positions are filled by the end of February.


 

Applicant Packet:

An applicant packet consists of the documents listed below.  Each document is required unless noted otherwise.  Failure to submit all required documents may result in disqualification:

1.  Current resume

2.  Completed Application for Employment

NOTE: Include the position posting number(s) to ensure consideration for the appropriate position(s).

3. Voluntary Self-Identification form (not required)

NOTE:  In order to comply with governmental recordkeeping and reporting requirements, Aera Energy invites applicants to voluntarily self-identify their gender and their race or ethnicity.

4. Signed “Disclosure and Authorization to Obtain Information” Form

NOTE:  Considering the sensitivity of the information requested, we will follow up with the selected candidates at the time we need the signed Form.

5. Evidence of current employment (i.e. W-2 or Pay stub), if applicable.

NOTE:  Instead of contacting an applicant’s current employer as part of the background check, we will follow up with selected candidates at the time we need evidence of current employment.  (Specific compensation and benefits information may be covered up and need not be discussed.)

6. Unofficial copy of college transcripts

NOTE:  Required if currently enrolled in school OR graduated within the last 3 years.

7.  Copy of appropriate certifications/diplomas in order to meet position requirements.

When submitting your applicant packet, be aware that

1.       As part of Aera Services’ hiring processes, we conduct full background checks on all candidates for employment through InfoLink Screening Services, Inc.  We may elect to conduct the background check at any stage in the employment process as well as on multiple applicants for the same position.  If we conduct a background check on you, it does not guarantee you are the selected candidate.  We will notify the selected candidate and send a formal offer letter package.

2.       We do not contact your present employer during completion of the background check.  However, when we initiate the background check we will request evidence of employment (i.e. W-2, pay stub, etc.).

3.       We prefer to communicate electronically through email, with the exception of the formal offer letter.  If you are disabled and need assistance or accommodation to submit or complete the applicant packet please contact us by e-mail, telephone, facsimile, or in person).

4.       We only send communications through the U.S. Postal Service if the applicant does not provide an email address.

5.       We attempt to provide sufficient notice when scheduling interviews or testing sessions. 

  • It is your responsibility to check your email regularly for any dates or deadlines. 

  • If an email address is not provided, we are not responsible in the event the U.S. Postal Service fails to deliver mail in a timely fashion and the applicant misses the interview or testing session.

6.       When submitting your applicant packet for a posted, vacant position the hiring manager will review your qualifications in conjunction with his/her specific business needs.

  • It may take between one and two weeks before determining whether to arrange for an interview.

7.       When submitting your applicant packet for an anticipated need, Aera managers will review your qualifications and determine whether we wish to talk with you further.

  • The positions identified as an anticipated need will close on a quarterly basis, the last work day of March, June, September, and December.  Aera Managers evaluate whether to re-post the position each quarter.

  • If a manager views your qualifications as a potential match, we may consider you for multiple positions, whether the position is currently vacant or becomes vacant within the quarter that you submitted your applicant packet. 

  • As a proactive measure to show continued interest, you are welcome to re-submit an applicant packet each Quarter that we post a position as an anticipated need.

8.       Regardless of what position you applied for you can expect:

  • Within two business days of sending your applicant packet, we will send you an email confirming receipt of your resume and application. Please follow up with us if you do not receive a confirmation email by the end of the second business day.

  • If we do not see a match with our minimum requirements or our business needs, we will notify you via email.  Our response time will vary.

  • If you are disabled and need us to contact you in a different way, please let us know.
